POULSBO — Officer Jennifer “Jen” Corn, formerly of the City of Tacoma, joined the Poulsbo Police Department May 28. She is being trained by Officer Shawn Ziemann, according to city Human Resources Director Deanna Kingery.

Officer Valerie Nau assumes detective duties from John Halsted effective July 1. Halsted was earlier promoted to sergeant.

The department is recruiting for an officer to succeed Ricki Sabado, who retires June 26 after 29 years with the department.

“A big thanks to Ricki for his many years of service and dedication to the citizens of Poulsbo,” Kingery wrote in an email to staff. “We will miss him and wish him only the very best.”
