POULSBO — Washington State Patrol are investigating two vehicle collisions that occurred early Friday morning as caused by the same driver. State Troopers responded to the scene of a hit and run incident early this morning at Hwy 3 and Trigger Avenue, just outside Poulsbo. The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to Harrison Medical Center.

Chance E. Bullock, 21 of Suquamish, was headed north on his Honda motorcycle when a car rear-ended him around midnight. The other car, of which Bullock could not describe, fled the scene. Officers arrived at 12:07 a.m. and found Bullock with minor cuts and bruises. He was wearing a motorcycle helmet.

Officers have evidence that the driver that hit Bullock may be the driver involved in a pursuit and crash near Silverdale about 20 minutes later. A 19-year-old male from Silverdale, driving a red Toyota Camry, was reported driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs on Central Valley Road NE about 12:15 a.m. Sheriff deputies observed the Camry run a red light at NW Bucklin Hill Road and Silverdale Way NW, which failed to stop when signaled by the officer. The Camry left the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned on its top on Anderson Hill Road. The driver was transported to Tacoma General Hospital with critical injuries; he was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected.

State Trooper spokesman Russ Winger said they haven’t made any “concrete decisions,” but with the time frame of the two incidents and some vehicle damage left at the scene of the hit and run, officers are investigating the two incidents as linked.

Bullock was wearing protective gear and his helmet, and was released from the hospital that day.

The investigation is ongoing.
