KINGSTON — Stillwaters Environmental Center is hosting special-interest clubs in need of a place to meet.
These clubs would be special-interest groups whose mission and purpose align with Stillwaters. For example, a bird photography group, a nature book reading group, a family hiking organization would all fit. Maybe you are interested in foraging or mushroom hunting and want to find other folks who would like to share and learn with you.
You define the club and organize it, recruit a few members, contact Stillwaters, and the center will help you set up a meeting time, provide space, and help you get the word out to more interested people.
Find your ‘green’ spirit this holiday season at Stillwaters
“Homemade Holidays: Finding our Green Holiday Spirit,” is Nov. 20, 1-4 p.m., at Stillwaters Environmental Center, 26059 Barber Cut Off Road, Kingston.
The event is an afternoon of crafting a homemade and green holiday. Why battle at the mall when you may have all you need at home? Instructors will offer suggestions and how-to’s on creating gifts from re-purposed items, using found objects to decorate, and emphasizing “It’s the thought that counts” — whether giving gifts or planning activities.
Join in for new ideas, freshened up old ideas, and lots of inspiration to make your holidays more meaningful. You will be able to make some crafts to take home too.
