Two people escaped injuries after their vehicles were involved in an accident caused by a street light which fell on the roadway because of strong winds.

Port Orchard police and South Kitsap Fire and Rescue emergency personnel responded to scene as traffic was detoured through a shopping center parking lot unto Olney Avenue about 1:30 p.m.

A Chevrolet Areo sedan suffered damage to the driver side, while an SUV had minor damage to the front bumper.

Traffic resumed on Mile Hill Drive after the street lamp was removed.
