Fourth-grade students at Hidden Creek Elementary are finding a way to give back to the local families in need by hosting “#Socktober” this month.
As an International Baccalaureate candidate school for the primary years program, Hidden Creek is diving into student-led inquiry.
“This project is entirely student led and planned,” explained teacher Maura Crisp. “The students researched homeless shelters in our community and found a way to help. The toiletry and sock drive will support Coffee Oasis and their work with homeless young adults.”
Donations will be collected through Oct. 31 and may be dropped off at the school located at 5455 Converse Rd. SE. For more information, call 360-443-3050.
