BELFAIR — The Salmon Center, 600 NE Roessel Rd., will host a Summer Farm Camp Celebration from 6-8 p.m. on Aug. 22.

Participants of the Weaving Wisdom summer camp will be showcasing items they have worked on over the summer while a local band, Swing Fever, will play live music.

This is an opportunity for the public to visit the Salmon Center’s organic u-pick garden, which has fresh garlic, beets, broccoli, peas, and squash. Visitors are encouraged to bring a chair and picnic basket to the estuary.

Weaving Wisdom is an annual summer camp that provides a unique opportunity for children to engage in hands-on, outdoor activities that teach sustainable gardening and raise eco-friendly awareness.

The Salmon Center strives to deepen the connection of land, people, and salmon through several integrated, collaborative activities. The Salmon Center creates educational programming, conducts research, and demonstrates sustainable agricultural practices at the edge of salmon habitat.
