Suquamish man arrested for allegedly stealing neighbor’s gun

Ryan Willard, 27, of Suquamish, is charged in Kitsap County Superior Court with residential burglary.

POULSBO — Ryan Willard, 27, of Suquamish, is charged in Kitsap County Superior Court with residential burglary.

The victim reported his Hi-Point 9MM Carbine rifle was missing from his locked storage cabinet at his residence on 8th Avenue in Poulsbo May 1. According to the report, he suspected Willard, who was his upstairs neighbor but had recently moved out.

On May 3, the victim called the Poulsbo Police Department again to report the rifle had been returned. The victim texted Willard to return the rifle at 9 a.m.; at 1 p.m., the victim found the rifle in the backseat of his car. The victim said Willard allegedly apologized for taking the rifle and “wanted to show it off to some friends.”

Willard allegedly told the Poulsbo officer during an interview he took the victim’s rifle.

Willard was booked into Kitsap County Jail on $75,000 bail.
