SUQUAMISH — Timothy J. Lagrandeur, 23, of Suquamish, is charged in Kitsap County Superior Court with two counts of forgery.

On April 5, the victim reported to Suquamish Police that checks stolen from her in 2008 were used at a bank recently. The checks were from a previous account at Westsound Bank, which went out of business in 2009.

According to the report, the checks were written out to Lagrandeur with the victim’s “forged” name on them, and deposited into Lagrandeur’s account. Lagrandeur allegedly deposited two checks, totaling $700, in Bremerton and Poulsbo into his bank account and then took out cash at ATM machines.

The Suquamish Police detective requested the sheriff’s office investigate as it was not a tribal matter.

Lagrandeur was arrested for second-degree theft and forgery. He was booked into Kitsap County Jail for second- and third-degree theft, forgery and escape from community custody; bail set at $45,000.
