The play begins with students in a classroom, who then take part in a variety of vacation activities including a trip to a theme park, a road trip, fishing, playing baseball, going to summer camp and surfing.

The play reflects what was going on with the students in real life in the classroom and makes reference to tests they take as well as the Chromebook laptops they use. Their teacher, Kristi Denton, said the play was a “nice, right-brained activity for the kids to do” and said the children worked together to create scenes and props. Students in grades 4, 5 and 6 took part in the play. Students had to audition for roles. Some children worked in the stage crew or made props or sang in the chorus.

“Everybody had a part,” Denton said. “We really, really work on teamwork and collaboration in our program.”
