Dr. Charles L. Salmon, a founder of The Doctors Clinic, was on hand Thursday, March 26 to celebrate the opening of the multi-specialty medical group’s ninth location in Kitsap County.
Dr. Brian Wicks, president of The Doctors Clinic, cut the blue ribbon Thursday, signaling The Doctors Clinic’s arrival to Cavalon Place in Silverdale.
The Cavalon Place facility, located at 2011 NW Myhre Road, is The Doctors Clinic’s fourth physician office in Silverdale.
First and second floor improvements were made at the Cavalon Place and a Smith Barney financial firm occupies the third floor of the building.
The Doctors Clinic CEO Linda Brown told the Central Kitsap Reporter late last year the expansion had been under evaluation for nearly a year. She said the medical group recruited a number of physicians and needed more space.
Wicks said The Doctors Clinic, then called The Jackson Clinic, began in 1949 in downtown Bremerton with three doctors. Now, the countywide medical group boasts a crew of roughly 75 physicians.
The Doctors Clinic in East Bremerton closed in October 2008 and the medical group acquired the Cavalon space around the same time.
“We just had a good opportunity. The timing was very good for us,” Brown said last year. “It just worked out really well for us.”
The new Silverdale location has approximately 24,000-square feet of new medical space and will offer cancer, heart, allergy, immunology, dermatology and plastic surgery services.
Drs. Brian Kim and Ellen Chiricella provide cancer care and chemotherapy; Drs. Mike Hegewald, John Banzer and Robin Houck do cardiac care; Dr. Michelle Montalbano provides services for allergic, asthmatic and immunologic disorders for adults and children; Drs. Dianne Levisohn and Irene Buño moved from the Salmon Medical Center in Silverdale to practice dermatology in the new office; and Dr. Jenifer Henderson provides cosmetic and aesthetic care at Cavalon Place.
At the ribbon-cutting celebration, Wicks said Silverdale was the business center for the county and The Doctors Clinic was happy to grow alongside Harrison Medical Center.
“It’s been exciting to see this county grow,” Wicks said.
