The new year will bring a new medical office for The Doctors Clinic.
The Doctors Clinic plans to open its fourth physician office in Silverdale in early 2009 in the Cavalon Place I building in The Highlands development.
First and second floor improvements are currently underway at the Myhre Road location, according to the company. A Smith Barney financial firm occupies the third floor of the building.
“Just as Silverdale has become the commercial center of Kitsap County, it is now becoming the medical center of Kitsap County,” said Dr. Brian Wicks, president of The Doctors Clinic.
The Doctors Clinic CEO Linda Brown said the expansion has been under evaluation for nearly a year.
“We have recruited a number of physicians this year and needed more space,” she said.
Brown said the East Bremerton location closed in October and The Doctors Clinic acquired the Cavalon space around the same time.
“We just had a good opportunity. The timing was very good for us,” Brown said. “It just worked out really well for us.”
The new Silverdale location will have approximately 24,000-square feet of new medical space and will offer cancer, heart, allergy, immunology, dermatology and plastic surgery services.
Drs. Brian Kim and Ellen Chiricella will provide cancer care and chemotherapy; Drs. Mike Hegewald, John Banzer and Robin Houck will do cardiac care; Dr. Michelle Montalbano will provide services for allergic, asthmatic and immunologic disorders for adults and children; Drs. Dianne Levisohn and Irene Buno will move from the Salmon Medical Center in Silverdale to practice dermatology in the new office; and Dr. Jenifer Henderson will provide cosmetic and aesthetic care at the Cavalon building.
“Having our specialists in Silverdale is much more accessible to our patients in both the north and south ends of the county,” Brown said.
The Doctors Clinic in the Cavalon building is scheduled to open in March 2009 and will be the medical practice’s ninth location in Kitsap County.
