PORT ORCHARD — The following Kitsap County roadways will be impacted by construction or repair work through the week of Aug. 31.
The following areas will be affected by road disruptions:
South Kitsap
Bethel Burley Road Southeast is closed between Southeast Quartz Court and Southeast Dews Lane while crews repair the northbound lane there. A detour using SR 16 is posted. Use the detour or other alternate routes to avoid the area during the work. Access to residences in the closure zone will be maintained, though delays may be experienced during active work. Work continues through Aug. 31.
Crews are repairing drainage on Tidepool Place East, between East Sandbar Court and 400 feet south on Tidepool Place, Wednesday, Aug. 29 through Friday, Aug. 31. Expect moderate delays of 5-10 minutes in the vicinity of the work.
Central Kitsap
Crews are grinding asphalt at three locations in Central Kitsap. Expect significant delays of 10 minutes or longer at these locations:
- Perry Avenue, between Sylvan and Fruitland – Monday, Aug. 27
- Sheridan Road between Bullard and Perry – Monday, Aug. 27
- Corfu Boulevard to and from Aegean Boulevard – Tuesday, Aug. 28
A Central Kitsap School District construction project is creating delays on Northwest Anderson Hill Road between Frontier and Bucklin Hill. Significant delays exceeding 15 minutes are expected. Use alternate routes or expect delays.
Northeast Electric continues work on a project to install a new traffic signal at the intersection of Northwest Newberry Hill Road and Tieton Place Northwest. Expect short delays in the immediate vicinity of the work.
Crews are working on Northwest Stavis Bay Road near the Stavis Creek Bridge. Expect intermittent short delays as crews supplement the existing armoring under the bridge. Work hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Work continues through August.
Expect moderate delays of 5-10 minutes on Ridgetop Boulevard Northwest between SR 303 and Quail Run Drive as work continues on an improvement project there. Flaggers direct motorists through the work area.
Work is temporarily suspended on this project due to a labor strike. Construction continues on Silverdale Way Northwest from 600 feet south of Byron to Anderson Hill Road. Expect Intermittent delays in the immediate vicinity of the work. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work area. All businesses are open during construction but expect some delay. Plan ahead or find alternate routes to minimize inconveniences.
North Kitsap
Northwest Sigurd Hanson is restricted to one lane Monday as crews pave the road. Expect moderate delays between 5 and 10 minutes.
Madrona Street, between Lougher and Northeast Shore, and Northeast Loughrey, between Indianola and Division, are closed Wednesday, Aug. 29 for work on a drainage project. The closure will last up to three hours on Tuesday, Aug. 28. Use an alternate route to get around the area.
Crews are widening shoulders along Hansville Road between Northeast 30th and Northeast Gus Halvor Thursday and Friday, Aug. 30-31. Expect moderate delays between 5 and 10 minutes.
Washington Boulevard Northeast has a 10,000-pound weight limit in effect. Portions of the road surface are gravel.
Coming to the Courthouse?
Tremont Construction: The City of Port Orchard is making improvements to the Tremont Street corridor, which has necessitated detours and possible delays in the general area of the work.

Coming Sept. 15: Washington Avenue Northeast between Grandview Boulevard Northeast to the Keyport Boat Launch, and from SR 308 to Northeast Fir Street, will be closed Saturday, Sept. 15 for Keyport Fest 2018.
