The Road Report: Aug. 20-24

Some Kitsap County roadways will be impacted by upcoming construction work.

PORT ORCHARD — Some Kitsap County roads will be impacted by construction and repair work over the next week.

These roads may affect commutes between Aug. 20 and 24:

South Kitsap

Bethel Burley Road Southeast is closed beginning Monday, Aug. 20 between Southeast Quartz Court and Southeast Dews Lane while crews repair the northbound lane there. A detour using SR 16 is posted. Use the detour or other alternate routes to avoid the area during the work. Access to residences in the closure zone will be maintained, though delays may be experienced during active work. Work continues through Aug. 31.

Crews are fog sealing at various locations all week. Expect moderate delays of 5-10 minutes in the vicinity of fog sealing projects. Crews are working on these roads in South Kitsap:

Central Kitsap

The Kitsap County Fair and Stampede brings several road closures and restrictions near the fairgrounds beginning Monday, Aug. 20.

A Central Kitsap School District construction project is creating delays on Northwest Anderson Hill Road between Frontier and Bucklin Hill. Significant delays exceeding 15 minutes are expected. Use alternate routes or expect delays.

Northeast Electric continues work on a project to install a new traffic signal at the intersection of Northwest Newberry Hill Road and Tieton Place Northwest. Expect short delays in the immediate vicinity of the work.

Crews are working on Northwest Stavis Bay Road near the Stavis Creek Bridge. Expect intermittent short delays as crews supplement the existing armoring under the bridge. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Work continues through August.

Expect moderate delays of 5-10 minutes on Ridgetop Boulevard Northwest between SR 303 and Quail Run Drive as work continues on an improvement project there. Flaggers direct motorists through the work area.

Crews are rehabilitating a drainage pipe on Silverdale Way at the intersection with Northwest Bucklin Hill. Minimal delays are expected. During this project, traffic will be restricted to one lane for five days. Longer delays are anticipated during those five days. The dates for that have not been set.

A portion of Tracyton Boulevard Northwest is closed temporarily. The portion closed is about 150 feet, between Darling Road Northwest and Silver Beach Drive. A detour is in place using Fairgrounds and Stampede Boulevard. Use alternate routes or expect delays. Unrestricted access through the area will be restored during the County Fair and Stampede. Work continues through September.

Construction continues on Silverdale Way Northwest from 600 feet south of Byron to Anderson Hill Road. Expect intermittent delays in the immediate vicinity of the work. Flaggers direct motorists through the work area. All businesses are open during construction but expect some delays. Plan ahead or find alternate routes to minimize inconveniences.

North Kitsap

Crews are working on shoulders along Hansville Road and on Brownsville Highway between Madison and South Keyport Road. No significant delays expected.

Washington Boulevard Northeast has a 10,000-pound weight limit in effect. Portions of the road surface are gravel.

Upcoming

Coming Sept. 15: Washington Avenue Northeast between Grandview Boulevard Northeast to the Keyport Boat Launch, and from SR 308 to Northeast Fir Street will be closed Saturday, Sept. 15 for Keyport Fest 2018.
