Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue received a call at approximately 7:23 p.m. on June 25 in reference to a possible residential structure fire at 4000 block of Robinson Road NE.
A teenage girl was home alone when she heard popping and crackling in a wall. She saw a glow and evacuated before calling 911.
When firefighters arrived at the scene they observed heavy smoke coming from the front door and flames from the rear of the building. Crews extinguished the fire in approximately 15 minutes.
The County Fire Marshal went to the scene to investigate the cause. Red Cross was called to assist the family.
The Bremerton Fire Department also responded.
The fire was the third structure fire in the past week for the Central Kitsap Area. The fire department advises families to test fire alarms to ensure they are working properly.
