KINGSTON — A three-car collision on Highway 104 sent one driver to the hospital early Feb. 14.
All three vehicles were traveling westward, one after the other, on Highway 104. A Jeep Cherokee stopped at the light at Hansville Road while another car, a Toyota Matrix, was slowing behind it. But a third car, a Honda Civic, failed to slow in time and rear-ended the Toyota, which in turn struck the Jeep.
A report from the Washington State Patrol cites inattention on part of the Honda driver as the cause of the crash. The driver, a 16-year-old Kingston girl, has been charged with following too close to another vehicle. She was not injured in the crash.
The driver of the Toyota was injured and was transported to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton. The Toyota was damaged and towed form the crash site.
The Jeep suffered minor damage and was driven away from the scene. Its driver, a 44-year-old Poulsbo man, was not injured. A passenger in the Jeep, a 12-year-old girl, reported minor injuries, but did not seek medical attention.
The Honda was totaled and towed from the scene.
