KINGSTON — A 21-year-old Kingston man and a 3-year-old girl were injured in a three-car collision at Highway 104 and Parcell Road, Oct. 1.
The 17-year-old driver of another vehicle was cited for failure to yield, Washington State Patrol reported. All occupants of the three vehicles were wearing seatbelts, State Patrol reported. The collision occurred at 4:11 p.m.
According to State Patrol: The teen’s car, a 1997 Nissan Maxima four-door, was stopped at Highway 104 in the left-turn lane at Parcell Road NE.
A 1993 Saturn SL2 four-door, driven by Lauren Moon, 23, of Kingston, was on westbound 104 approaching Parcell Road NE.
A 2000 GMC S10 pickup driven by William Lecerff, 23, of Suquamish, was on southbound Parcell Road NE, stopped at 104.
The teen driver failed to yield the right of way and turned left in front of Moon’s car. The cars collided in the westbound lane of 104. The momentum pushed the teen’s vehicle further westbound, and Moon’s car struck Lecerff’s pickup.
The roadway was blocked for one hour and 45 minutes. The teen’s vehicle was towed by Gateway Towing; Moon’s vehicle was towed by Kitsap Towing.
The 21-year-old, Bearon S. Old Coyote, and the 3-year-old girl were passengers in Moon’s car. They were taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
