Dickens Reading Dickens: Saturday, Dec. 8, 2 p.m. In honor of the author’s 200th birthday, local actor Tim Tully excerpts from ‘Great Expectations,’ ‘Nicholas Nickleby’ and ‘A Christmas Carol.’

Book Worms Party: Dec. 18 at 6pm, Bookworms, Manchester’s book discussion group, is having a year-end party. Participants are encouraged to bring a dish to pass. For January we will read Madonnas of Leningrad by Debra Dean. The group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7 pm.

Auction Items for Library Fundraiser. Put a raffle ticket in her/ his stocking:
Large NW Art Work. We have had a donation of a large work of art called “Land of the Free” by artist Alan M. Hunt. It is hanging above the self check-out and it is up for raffle. Tickets are $2.00. The estimated value is $400.00 and the drawing will be in September 2013 at Amy’s on the Bay Takeover, date TBA.
Global Destinations Vacation: 2 “value” weeks in a studio/one-bedroom condo almost anywhere. Travel not included. Donor will assist winner with site selection in locale you are interested in.
