UPDATE | Driver charged with DUI after three-car collision on Highway 305

The driver involved in the Wednesday crash that halted all traffic on Highway 305 was charged with a DUI.

POULSBO — A Port Orchard woman was charged with a DUI after causing a three-car collision on Highway 305 Wednesday afternoon.

The woman, 59, was transported to a Harrison Hospital with minor injuries after the collision blocked traffic in both directions around 4:30 p.m.

The woman’s car was totaled after it crossed the center line while traveling southbound on Highway 305 and collided head-on with a northbound pick up truck.

A third car then rear-ended the truck after it came to a sudden stop.

Both the driver of the truck, a 66-year-old Sequim man, and the third car, a 61-year-old Silverdale woman, were not injured.

The truck was totaled, while the third car suffered “reportable damage,” according to a report from the Washington State Patrol.

The report also states that alcohol or drugs were cause of the crash.

Firefighters spent the afternoon separating the vehicles with crow bars and cutting tools.

Northbound traffic was diverted to Lemolo Drive until the scene was cleared later that evening.

Trucks from the Poulsbo Fire Department and North Kitsap Fire and Rescue responded to the crash.
