AUG. 8 UPDATE: Due to wet weather, the closures have been rescheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 22-23. In the event of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled again.
BREMERTON — Drivers who use the Manette Bridge on State Route 303 in Bremerton may encounter delays next week. Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close the span to all traffic over two days while they work on the bridge deck.
From 9 am. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, August 8-9, the Manette Bridge will be closed to all traffic.
Washington State Department of Transportation crews will be working on the Manette Bridge on State Route 303 at that time. Traffic will be rerouted to the Warren Avenue Bridge.
During the closures, crews will clean and prepare two 50-foot-long sections of bridge deck, then apply two specialized products to the cracks in the deck’s concrete. The products are being tested to gauge their performance for use on other bridge decks. Crack-sealing the concrete will help protect the steel rebar embedded inside the deck from water damage.
The work and closures will be postponed in the event of rain, since the products must be applied in dry weather.
