Officials continued to search for a 17-year-old girl on Wednesday after her parents reported her missing early Tuesday morning.
Hevi Muhaz Tahir, described as 5 feet three 3 inches tall, 129 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, was last seen by her siblings on Monday at Olympic High School, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office reported.
“Her family became concerned when the young woman did not return from school,” a KCSO press release reads.
On Tuesday morning, Tahir’s 2000 Toyota Camry was located at Silverdale Waterfront Park, prompting a search of the area.
A tracking canine, as well as a police boat, dive team and a Coast Guard helicopter were utilized in the search, which lasted most of the day Tuesday. Police said search efforts would continue Wednesday.
“Due to the location where the vehicle was discovered, the initial search has focused on the waters of Dyes Inlet,” the press release, issued Tuesday evening, read.
“We’re covering all bases,” Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Wilson said.
Anyone with information as to Ms. Tahir’s whereabouts are asked to contact the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office at (360) 337-7117, or dial 911.
