SILVERDALE — Kitsap County Sheriff’s detectives and patrol deputies arrested seven people suspected of being involved in a series of burglaries that occurred in at least 17 commercial business establishments in Silverdale over the past two months.
Seven suspects were taken into custody in connection with the ongoing investigation. The last suspect, Ronald Henry Newton III, voluntarily surrendered April 28 at the Kitsap County Jail.
“The nexus to this rampage of burglaries can be linked directly to the insidious addiction to narcotics and illegal substances,” said Sheriff Gary Simpson in a press statement.
“The individuals responsible commit crime to feed their dependence, or to enhance their significance in the criminal environment in order to foster the use of drugs on others. Their selfish conduct affects the entire community. Sadly, it’s evident that their actions and the subsequent consequences are nothing to them but a revolving door.”
Newton was wanted for for trafficking in stolen property, possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine. Bail is set at $50,000.
The seven people now in custody were all Bremerton residents, including three men ages 34, 27 and 26; three women ages 34, 33 and 28; and one boy, 16.
The adults were charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, trafficking in stolen property, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
Investigators found one-half pound of methamphetamine along with an amount of heroin, a firearm, stolen credit cards, various property items from the affected businesses and items that were purchased using stolen credit cards.
Affected businesses included A & A Jewelry, Joy Teriyaki, Azteca Mexican Restaurant, Maxx Nutrition, Cash Brewing Company, Seoul Korean BBQ Restaurant, Desert Sun Tanning Salon, Silver City Barber Shop, Fast Signs, Silverdale Community Center, Fiesta Mexican Restaurant, Silverdale Cyclery, Green Garden Pho Restaurant, Teriyaki Delight Restaurant and Ultra Custom Cleaners.
