Vehicle stolen from DOT employee

A Department of Transportation employee reported his personal vehicle was stolen from the DOT parking lot on Highway 3 in Poulsbo July 10.

POULSBO — A Department of Transportation employee reported his personal vehicle was stolen from the DOT parking lot on Highway 3 in Poulsbo July 10.

The employee left the parking lot in a DOT vehicle at 7:30 a.m., locking his black 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. He reported it missing around 4:50 p.m.

On July 11 around 1 a.m., a suspicious vehicle was reported on Klipsan Lane in Silverdale. The plates and the truck’s VIN didn’t match, but the VIN matched the DOT employee’s stolen vehicle. The sheriff deputy found the steering column broken. Flashlights, tools, cigarettes and needle caps were found inside the vehicle and didn’t belong to owner.
