This week’s Swear Free Zone submission is courtesy of Susie Scott’s third grade class at View Ridge Elementary. Here they are:

I think people swear because they’re mad and there scared, and I don’t swear because it is rude and mean and swearing is disrespectful to.

Daisies are white we’re all right if we dare we all know we care.

Roses are red, violets are blue I “Dare Not To Swear!”, so how about you? You should not swear because it is bad. And when you swear around people they say that’s bad.

I hope you like me, because swearing I don’t do!

I know swearing is bad, but it isn’t all we got, we have lots of word choices, so let’s use them when we’re hot.

People swear because they get mad or sad and they don’t like people sometimes. Sometimes people swear just because or they get mad if something doesn’t work. Some people don’t like to swear but sometimes they do. Very little people don’t swear a lot because they think it’s wrong.

I think people swear because they think it is OK or cool but it’s not, and it is for bad people.

People should not swear because it’s bad, when you swear you don’t know what you’re saying. You could be saying something that hurts your friends feelings, you might think swearing is fun.

I think people swear because they’re addicted to swearing. They like to call people names but that’s not nice. They try to stop it but it never works. Then their feelings end up getting hurt.

I think people swear because they get mad. Then they start to swear. Here is an example not to swear. Kiera said she was a swear leader and I swear all the time. At lunch Kiera heard the children say “Dare Not To Swear!” then when Kiera got home she stopped swearing. Now Kiera and her class know not to swear anymore. If a new student comes in the classroom the whole class will teach that student that they don’t swear in their school. Then the BHS Knights will come to View Ridge and teach the children that we don’t swear at our school anymore.
