Summer schedule comparisons
Washington State Ferries is implementing a new schedule for the Kingston-Edmonds route in the summer of 2010. The schedule is intended to improve on-time performance on the route. The following is a comparison of the 2009 and 2010 summer schedules for Monday through Thursday, scroll down for a comparison of Friday schedules.

This is data collected on Kingston-Edmonds 2009 schedule performance. Note that traffic in May was altered by the Hood Canal Bridge closure.
2010 ferry legislation
The following is the principle ferry legislation from the 2010 session, ESB 3209. ESB 3209 bill rolls together diverse items including the direction that had previously been in the supplemental transportation appropriations legislation.

Fuel surcharge and fuel savings
Washington State Ferries and the state Transportation Commission gave a presentation to the state Legislature in January on a possible fuel surcharge and fuel cost mitigation plan to cover a growing gap between the agency’s fuel budget and the actual cost of fuel. The Legislature opted to fund the fuel budget gap this year and instruct WSF and the commission to return with a fuel surcharge proposal and alternatives in 2011.
