POULSBO — Businesses were holding on this morning as snow blanketed the area, government offices and schools closed and other public services were delayed.
At 7 a.m., Kingston and Poulsbo Albertson’s, Poulsbo Central Market and Poulsbo Red Apple Market were open. Ah, and you could still get that morning jolt of coffee. In Downtown Poulsbo, Hot Shots Java’s usual morning crowds were slowed by the weather. But LeAnne Musgrove stood at the ready as customers trickled in.
“I’m the only one here. So be patient,” she said.
This is a list of snow-related closures in North Kitsap. The list will be updated through the day.
CANCELLATIONS
— As of 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, PSNS & IMF Bangor and Bremerton sites have curtailed operations for non-essential day, swing and grave shift personnel. Worker/driver buses will NOT operate. The start of Annapolis/Bremerton foot ferry service will be delayed until 8 a.m., at which time the boat will operate a normal set of morning runs. Port Orchard/Bremerton foot ferry service is operating normally.
— All North Kitsap School District schools are canceled for Wednesday. All meetings, field trips, after-school activities, and practices are canceled. District facilities, including the North Kitsap Community Pool, are also closed.
— All Kitsap Regional Library branches are closed and the Olalla Bookmobile run is canceled Wednesday.
— The Poulsbo City Council meeting is cancelled. According to a notice emailed by City Clerk Jill Boltz, the meeting is cancelled “due to lack of agenda items.”
— Port Gamble S’Klallam government offices and operations are closed. Call the emergency information phone line, (360) 297-6248 to check on office closures or other emergencies.
— Suquamish government offices are closed.
— The Kitsap County Courthouse and all county offices are closed Wednesday. Information regarding operating hours on Thursday will be available on the Inclement Weather Line, (360) 337-5775, by 6 a.m. Thursday. All garbage and recycling facilities in Kitsap County are closed.
DELAYS
— Kitsap Transit is operating on limited route service Wednesday.
STREET CLOSURES
— Beachwood Avenue NE between Indianola and Wavecrest is closed due to snow and ice.
