A series of residential and outbuilding burglaries, or attempted burglaries, in the west central area of the county are under investigation by Kitsap County Sheriff’s detectives.

The burglaries were reported as having occurred this past weekend, Saturday April 5 and Sunday, April 6, with the perpetrators apparently targeting properties in semi-rural communities or houses that are secluded from view, according to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

Burglaries or attempted burglaries occurred at the following locations:

• 9500 block of NW Holly Road. Reported at 11:17 a.m. Saturday. Forced entry into a residence. A security/fire safe and power tools were taken.

• 13600 block of West Critter Creek Lane. Reported at 12:14 p.m. Saturday as a possible burglary in progress. The homeowner reported seeing several adult males at the residence who appeared to be trying to enter the house. The homeowner left the house from the rear door and fled to a neighbor’s house to call 911. He or she could only provide a basic clothing description of the men as wearing jackets and hats. Nothing was taken from the property.

• Tahuyeh Drive West. Reported at 4:56 p.m. Saturday. Forced entry into a tool shed belonging to a residence that is listed for sale. An arc welder and miscellaneous supplies as well as gardening related items were taken.

• 200 block of Kitsap Lake Road NW. Reported at 10:18 a.m. Sunday. Forced entry into a work shed. A generator, chainsaw and other gardening-related tools were taken.

One witness was able to obtain a photograph of a vehicle associated with the men who appeared to be attempting to enter one of the above residences.

The vehicle is described as a 1990s model Dodge Dakota pickup truck, blue and silver in color, with apparent damage to the rear bumper.

Sheriff’s detectives are releasing the photograph as a precautionary measure to warn the public to be alert for suspicious activity where this vehicle may be involved or noticed.
