Grab those umbrellas and raincoats because forecasters are calling for a wet and windy weekend in Kitsap County.
A National Weather Service advisory says the entire Pacific Northwest should expect multiple rounds of rain over the next few days as onshore flow and a strong Pacific storm system moves over the region throughout Saturday.
In Bremerton, there is a 90-percent chance of rain Friday night and about a half an inch of the wet stuff is expected to fall. Experts say rain showers early will evolve into a more steady rain overnight with a low of 48 and winds from the north at 5 to 10 mph. There’s also a 90-percent chance of rain on Saturday and winds will increase to nearly 20 mph. Possible new precipitation amounts for Saturday could be between a quarter and half of an inch.
The reason for all the coming wind and rain is a low pressure system developing off northern California Friday night.
From the NWS advisory: “The low center will move inland across western Washington Saturday evening. Increasing easterly flow may give windy conditions near the Cascade foothills Friday nigh through Saturday morning. Windy weather is also possible over western Washington Saturday evening as the low moves ashore.”
