This aerial photograph was found recently by Kingston High School seniors Loren Klemesrud and Aaron McCanna, while they were organizing and filing materials for the Kingston Historical Society.
The tide in Apple Tree Cove is partially out. The wooden slough bridge can be seen in the center of the print. The road up the center is West Kingston Road.
The temporary log booms into the Cove are on each side of the area where logs were dumped. The logs were then rolled into the water and formed into log rafts during high tide. The rafts could then be towed to the mill.
We would certainly like to know more about this picture. When was it taken? Why was it taken? There are several houses. Who were their owners then?We received so much good information about Kountry Korner that we are trying again.
