William Otto Kingman passed away on March 13, 2011. He was 85.

William was born in Portland, Ore. on June 10, 1925 to Henry and Eleanora (Gerlach) Kingman. He graduated from Benson High School in Portland and went into the Army, where he served from 1943-47 fighting in Berlin during WWII.

On June 19, 1948, he married Marion Daly in Pulllman, Wash. William attended Oregon State and Washington State universities, where he earned his BA in Civil Engineering. He later went on to earn his master’s from Yale.

William worked for the National Highway Traffic Safety as an engineer, retiring after 30 years. He loved fly fishing, fishing, hiking and basketball.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Kochelle Kingman. Treasuring his memory are his wife, Marion; sons, Kelly, Kurt, Kent; and six grandchildren.
