Strong winds ripped through South Kitsap on Oct. 25 and left more than a 1,700 homes without power.
Power outages were reported in East Port Orchard affecting 1,714 customers and Puget Sound Energy servicemen were in the area restoring power.
According to PSE, 2 p.m. Monday was the deadline to have power restored to its Kitsap County customers.
On Sunday, PSE reported more than 110,000 customers were affected and 12 substations went offline.
PSE’s website reported Monday morning that all of its transmission lines and substations were operational, and crews were focused on restoring power in several neighborhoods, affecting about 6,700 customers.
The power outage affected more than 87,000 customers in Western Washington.
The National Weather service issued a high-wind warning from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday. The Bremerton National Airport reported the strongest gust of wind at 49 mph at about 9 p.m. Saturday.
In an email Sunday, Jim Weber, of Spanaway, reported he was struck by a piece of plywood Saturday while in downtown Port Orchard.
“I got hit by flying debris last night that blew off the old Myhre’s,” he wrote. “Got Bay Street all lit up with first responders. Had to go to Harrison Urgent Care, car also damaged.”
Weber, a former Port Orchard resident, wrote he was in town Saturday having dinner with a friend at MoonDogs, Too.
