In the first-ever Seagull Splat 5K Run on May 24, runners crossed the finish line a little different than they left — thanks to a two groups of “splatters.”
Joshua Combs was the top male runner with a time of 18 minutes and 42 seconds, while Justine Morris was the top female at 21.50.
Bailey Jo Nelson, a former Fathoms o’ Fun queen, won the 19-29 female division in 27.54, while Port Orchard Mayor Tim Matthes finished the 3.1-miles course.
Fathoms chair Sharron King was pleased with the first race.
“Everyone seemed to come back with smiles and everyone I talked to said they had a good time,” said King.
