Bremerton will welcome Saint Nick and celebrate the Christmas season Friday with multiple tree lightings at the city’s 12th annual Winterfest from 5 to 8 p.m.
The event, which will join regular First Friday Artwalk festivities, will take place in Bremerton’s Harborside, downtown and Manette neighborhoods.
The Harborside area near the boardwalk will have a tree lighting festival starting at 5:30 p.m., which will include a performance from the Bremerton High School Marching Band and a visit from Santa.
In downtown, shops, restaurants and art galleries will be open, featuring artwork, gifts, hot cocoa and treats. Carolers and choirs will sing holiday music throughout the neighborhood. A horse-drawn carriage ride will be available for free at Pacific Avenue and Burwell Street, available for all ages.
The Evergreen Children’s Theatre and Aurora Valentinetti Puppet Museum will be open late displaying its exhibits and will offer free refreshements at 257 Fourth Street.
Ish Vintage Clothing & Costume will host a Holiday Art & Craft Show from 6 to 9 p.m. in its store at 249 Fourth Street. The event will include jewelry and gifts made by local artists and crafters, live models will show off vintage apparel in the window and Santa will make an appearance. Live music will be performed by Miss Lilly Van Darling and free food and spirits will be available.
Manette will have its own Magic in Manette event, with a 7 p.m. tree lighting and live entertainment from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
