Wolf Battalion places first at Curtis High School drill meet

South Kitsap High School NJROTC Wolf Battalion won first place at the drill meet held at Curtis High School on Feb. 28.

South Kitsap High School NJROTC Wolf Battalion won first place at the drill meet held at Curtis High School on Feb. 28 and earned a second-place finish in the Narrow’s Division of the JROTC Northwest Drill and Rifle Conference.

The Wolf Battalion Academic and Precision Marksmanship teams took first place, the Strength and Sporter Marksmanship teams finished second and the Unarmed and Armed Drill Teams finished third.

South Kitsap also won the Dual Unarmed Exhibition Drill contest.

Sophomore Michelle Dean set a set a conference record for females with 101 push-ups during her first-place finish in the Iron Woman event.

Individual awards included:

• Jessica Hasel, first place, Precision Marksmanship

• Danielle Corpuz, second place, Precision Marksmanship

• Katelynn Croston, third place, Precision Marksmanship

• Allen Sollano, second place, Iron Man

• Coco Mumper, first place, Armed Drill Down

• Nino Magbanua, second place, Unarmed Drill Down
