Two-term Kitsap County Commissioner Ed Wolfe said Wednesday that he will run for re-election this November.

Wolfe was first elected in 2014, then ran unopposed and was re-elected in 2018 for a second four-year term.

The commissioner currently chairs the Board of Kitsap County Commissioners and the Kitsap Transit Board. Prior to his election to the board of commissioners, Wolfe was a Kitsap County attorney for 20 years, founding the Wolfe Law Offices in 1997. He is a past president of the Kitsap County Bar Association and a former judge pro tem in county, municipal and district courts.

“We’ve accomplished much over the last eight years,” Wolfe said in a news release. “These last few have been especially challenging as we’ve worked to support our families and small businesses emerge from these difficult days.”

Wolfe said his priorities include supporting “a proactive local government that provides access and a voice for all of Kitsap.” He said citizens should have a voice in local government services and programs, and “the ability to reach their local leaders with questions and concerns about their community.”

The county commissioner is a graduate of the George Mason University School of Law.

“I will continue to respectfully consider input and recommendations from our county’s citizens to help shape public policy,” Wolfe added in his announcement statement.

”As I pledged when first elected in 2014 to ‘Bring Balance Back’ to our county, I remain committed to collaborate with my fellow commissioners to help the families and taxpayers who deservedly expect much from county government.”
