A fight over a soda refill in a Silverdale McDonald’s drive-through Friday spilled over when a 29-year-old woman peeled out and struck her fiance with her car, injuring his knee.

When Kitsap County sheriff’s deputies contacted the woman, who had two small children in the backseat, they found “a moist hand print and large smudge mark on the hood” of the car, according to reports.

Deputies were called to the fast food restaurant parking lot at 10444 Silverdale Way NW after receiving reports of a domestic assault. The man told deputies the fight started when the woman wanted him to go inside the restaurant and get her a refill on her soda.

“The argument got worse from there,” the man said, admitting that he “backhanded” the woman twice.

Witnesses at the restaurant told deputies the two were assaulting each other. The man then left the car and began walking away. Witnesses said she then spun the tires, turned sharply toward the man and drove into him.

When contacted by deputies, the East Bremerton woman denied intentionally hitting the man and said he had struck her, bit her finger and poured a soda on her.

She was booked into the Kitsap County jail for investigation of second-degree assault. The children, a 3-year-old and a newborn, were released to the woman’s parents.
