Woman in satisfactory condition after being hit by car

POULSBO — A Bainbridge Island woman remains in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center this week after she was hit by a car while walking along Highway 305 near Johnson Way NE in Poulsbo on Dec. 28.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Sarah K. Dean, 33, of Bainbridge was walking down the highway when she was struck by a passing vehicle.

The woman was hit while she was walking southbound in the northbound lane of Highway 305, the State Patrol said, between Noll Road and Johnson Way NE in Poulsbo, just after 7:30 p.m.

At the time of the accident, Dean was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. She was reported to have a broken leg that required surgery, a hospital spokesman said.

As of Jan. 5, the driver of the vehicle that hit her had not been found. The driver of the vehicle did not stop after hitting her.

Detectives are still investigating but currently do not have any additional information on a possible suspect or vehicle. The incident remains under investigation and the State Patrol is looking for witnesses.
