The State Patrol has provided more information regarding the people in the crash and whether they were wearing seatbelts. The updated information is included in the third and fifth paragraph.

POULSBO – A Bremerton woman was killed and two people were injured Friday in a collision on State Route 305 at George Lane near Suquamish, the fourth fatal collision in North Kitsap since September and the fifth this year.

Washington State Patrol reported that Kim M. Yeager, 46, of Poulsbo and Michael S. Eischen, 49, of Port Orchard were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. Jenna R. Carp, 50, of Bremerton, was declared dead at the scene. Kitsap County Coroner Greg Sandstrom said Carp died of multiple blunt force injuries to the neck and torso.

According to a state patrol report, Yeager was driving a 2000 Hyundai Sonata northbound on 305. Her car was weaving in and out of a ditch, struck a row of mailboxes, then crossed the center line and struck Eischen’s 1993 Saturn SL 1 head-on in the southbound lane.

Eischen was wearing a seatbelt; Carp, his passenger, was wearing a shoulder belt but not the lap belt, according to state patrol. Yeager was wearing a seatbelt when the collision occurred.

State Patrol spokeswoman Krista Hedstrom said alcohol or drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash. But some friends of Yeager’s wondered if another cause was possible; she is diabetic, they said. And KOMONews.com reported Dec. 9 that a tipster called police after seeing the woman driving erratically and with a flat front tire.

The collision occurred at 6:04 p.m. State Route 305 was blocked in both directions for four hours for the collision investigation. Though a detour was in place to allow some drivers past, state patrol advised motorists trying to get between Poulsbo and Bainbridge Island to use an alternate route.

Nov. 10, a man was killed and another airlifted to the regional trauma center after their car crashed on Little Boston Road between Hansville and Cliffside roads, about six miles north-northwest of Kingston.

Sept. 23, a 21-year-old motorcyclist died from injuries sustained when his motorcycle collided with a Jeep Cherokee at Hansville Road and Three Berry Lane.

Sept. 9, the driver of an SUV was killed when his vehicle left a section of Little Boston Road near Hood Canal Drive and crashed into some trees.

Feb. 5, two teens were killed when their SUV crashed into a utility pole and burned in the 2600 block of NW Finn Hill Road.
