BREMERTON — The YWCA of Kitsap County has scheduled its 26th Annual Women of Achievement Luncheon on April 21 at the Kitsap Convention Center.
This year’s event will honor ten Women of Achievement in the following categories: She Who Has Overcome the Odds, government/political, business/professional, education, human services, community activist/volunteer, and the arts.
Past honorees have included Lillian Walker, Ann Lovell, Judge Marilyn Paja, Bremerton Mayor Patty Lent, Amy Burnett, Shannon Childs and Marilee Hansen.
The event will also include the presentation of YWCA Women of Achievement Alumnae scholarships. Women of all ages with a high school education or GED and graduating seniors are encouraged to apply for $500-$2,500 to continue their education.
Nominations can be made at www.ywcakitsap.org and must be submitted by Wednesday, March 4 at noon.
Applications are also available at local high schools and the Olympic College campuses.
Tickets for the event are $65 per person or $600 for a table of 10.
Event sponsorships from $500-$5,000 are also available for the event and are a great way of showing public support for the YWCA of Kitsap County and its work to address domestic violence and its impact on our community.
