Vincent Ravanera, a second-grader at Woodlands Elementary School in Bremerton, takes a step back to admire the mural unveiled at the school April 8. The mosaic is 6 feet by 15 feet and was made using nearly 35,000 pieces of glass, said Woodlands Principal Jeff McCormick. Ravanera said the mosaic added something “cool” to the school’s hallway, and was interesting to look at because of the jungle theme. Called “Jungle Jumble,” the mosaic features the school’s mascot, a wildcat. Nearly $2,000 was donated by the Port of Brownsville to help pay for the piece which hangs in the school’s entrance.
