North Kitsap resident Alexander Harrison Harris Jr. died June 21, 2007 at Washington Veterans Home in Retsil. He was 71.
Harris was born in Waller, Texas on Feb. 25, 1936.
He married Margaret Thatcher in 1957, and MaryAnn Franzino in 1975.
He served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1976.
Harris owned the Port Gamble General Store and Port Ludlow Village Store for 10 years.
He enjoyed bicycling, and riding across the country until he was 63.
Harris is survived by his wife MaryAnn Harris; son Scott (Deborah Duvall) Harris of Poulsbo; daughters Dian (David Haubrich) Poyssick of Kingston, Monica Harris of Poulsbo and Michelle Harris of Poulsbo; and two grandchildren.
Harris was preceded in death by his son Randall Alexander Harris.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. June 27 at the Sons of Norway Lodge on Front Street in Poulsbo.
