Arlene Adele Endresen (Anderson) was born on December 27, 1947 and passed away on March 24, 2023. She leaves behind a large and loving family. She was big sister to her brother Michael Anderson (Maureen McGarrity), aunt to Bob Anderson (Sam), Cory Nortman (Mark), Justin Anderson (Allison), great aunt to Alysia Nortman, McKenzie Nortman, Stephanie Anderson, Hayley Anderson, and Zakary Anderson. She had a special relationship with Tyler and Ember (Justin and Allison’s children) to whom she was more an Honorary Grandmother than an aunt. She has many cousins that she grew up with as well, Linda Baselt (Jim), Colleen Terry, Sharon Bacon (Harry), Jim Anderson, Elaine Hitchcock (Bob), Donna Granholm, Denali Granholm (Gary Simpson), Ron Granholm (Colleen) and Patricia Vixie (Arlen).
Arlene was a forward-thinking woman. She got into Computer Science at a time when a computer main frame, the size of a room, would perform the work of a calculator. She worked for Pan Am and the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until she retired. She loved to travel and took many trips to Europe and Mexico with her former husband Manny Xenos (deceased). Arlene loved people and welcomed several foreign exchange students into her home while they attended school at North Kitsap High School: Ilse, Mamo and Marilla. Ilse even named one of her daughters after Arlene, who has kept in close contact with her in the years since. “Little Arlene” came to visit her recently from Mexico and was able to see her first snow from the Liberty Bay facing window in the Anderson family home. She was a snazzy dresser who frequented Nordstrom Rack. She also loved animals and always had dogs and cats at home, having a special affinity for strays. Her last dog, Abby, was a rescue that she left to her brother, Michael. She was also an active member and volunteer at the Daughters of Norway and The Maritime Museum in Poulsbo, Washington.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim, and Maryann Anderson (McGinty), brothers Gary Anderson and Jim Anderson, cousin Thomas Anderson and her husband Rick Endresen.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Stone Chapel Poulsbo Mortuary in Poulsbo, Washington.
