Arnold Allen, 83

Arnold Allen of Poulsbo died Oct. 15, 2004. He was 83.

Allen was born to Patrick and Mae Allen in Tacoma on July 18, 1921.

He married Patricia Crowder on Aug. 5, 1943.

Allen graduated from Buckley High School in 1939.

He worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for 39 years, retiring in 1979.

The Allens raised two sons on Bainbridge Island at Point White. They traveled throughout the Pacific Northwest, fishing every river as far north as Canada and as far south as California. He was an avid Huskies fan, holding season tickets for many years and traveling to the Rose Bowl several times. He is also remembered as a great storyteller.

Allen is survived by his sons David of Poulsbo and Les (Shirley) of Everett and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia and daughter in-law Mary Allen.

A private memorial service was held Nov. 18 at The Stone Chapel in Poulsbo.
