Barbara M. Waterman, 74
Barbara Minckler Waterman of Poulsbo died June 9, 2004 in Poulsbo. She was 74.
Waterman was born to Robert L. and Marguerite Minckler in Glendale, Calif. on May 10, 1930.
She graduated from Glendale High School and attended the University of Colorado and Occidental College. She earned a B.A. in art from USC in 1951.
Waterman worked for a short period of time at the juvenile detention hall in Seattle. She also volunteered for: the Los Angeles County Museum of Art where she was chairman of the art docents’ council; the Junior League of Pasadena; the Los Angeles Yacht Club, through which she was part of the sailing competition race committee for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles; and the Poulsbo Yacht Club.
She enjoyed traveling the world, reading and her daily crossword puzzles.
Waterman is survived by her son Robert (Maggie) and daughter Linda.
She was preceded in death by her brother Robert.
A gathering of friends and family will be held June 14 at the Waterman home in Poulsbo.
