Donald C. Webster 82

Poulsbo resident Donald Charles Webster died March 18, 2005 in Bremerton. He was 82.

He was born to Elmer C. and Leila E. (Airth) Webster in Bellingham on June 19, 1922.

Webster married Phyllis E. Ekstedt on Oct. 3, 1952 in Keyport.

He graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1940 and completed a Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Machinist Apprenticeship on Aug. 15, 1946.

Webster was drafted into the Army Air Corps in December 1943 and was discharged in January 1946 as a Staff Sergeant. He worked at Al Silvan’s Machine Shop in Poulsbo; Poulsbo Creamery; Keyport Naval Torpedo Station; and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He retired from PSNS in August 1979. He also worked at Martha & Mary Nursing Home from 1980-1988. He enjoyed gardening, working with tools or machinery, traveling and reading his Bible. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and backpacking. He was active in NARFE Poulsbo Chapter 881 and served as 1st Vice President.

Webster is survived by his spouse Phyllis Elisabeth (Ekstedt) Webster of Poulsbo; sons David Charles (Beverly) Webster of Bremerton and Ronald Andrew (Kimberly) Webster of Mt. Vernon; daughter Kathryn Elisabeth (Darren) McClung of San Pedro, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother Keith Raymond Webster.

Services were held March 24 at Miller Woodlawn in Bremerton. A memorial service was held March 25 at Keyport Bible Church. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Keyport Bible Church Building Fund.
