Earl Goody, 76
Earl O. Goody of Bremerton died from an accident Sept. 13, 2006. The retired grocery store manager and steel guitar player was 76.
Mr. Goody spent 41 years in the grocery business, working at Uddenberg’s Thriftway, Red Apple, Gary’s Family Grocery, Tradewell and Safeway. In his spare time he played the steel guitar for a number of county western bands throughout Washington. He was a life member of American Federation of Musicians Local 76 in Seattle.
Mr. Goody was born March 5, 1930 in Bellingham to Fred and Mildren (Bates) Goody. He graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1948 and shortly afterward joined the U.S. Air Force, rising to the rank of staff sergeant before getting out of the service in 1952.
He married Jeannie Gilman on Oct. 1, 1980, in Stateline, Nev. She preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by: daughter Teresa Goody of Aberdeen; stepson Dan Shown of Allyn; stepdaughter Teresa (Bob) Case of Poulsbo; grandchildren Cheryl, Heather, Aaron, Rob and Lisa; and friends Ernie Blind and Patricia Sutton.
A visitation service was noon on Friday, Sept. 22, at Lewis Funeral Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial tookplace at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Lewis Funeral Chapel. Online memorial available at lewischapel.com.
