Edwin A. O. Moon Jr., 80

Edwin Austin Omri Moon of Kingston died March 26, 2007 in Bremerton. He was 80.

Moon was born to Edwin Moon Sr. and Clara (Briscoe) Moon in Chatfield, Minn. on March 17, 1917.

He moved from Minnesota to Leavenworth in 1919 and to Kingston in 1940.

Moon married Letamae Hillier on July 31, 1943 in Kingston.

He worked in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard before serving in the South Pacific during World War II. Upon his discharge from military service, he returned to the shipyard where he retired after 30 years as a boilermaker.

Moon is survived by his wife Letamae Moon of Kingston; sons Ronald Moon, Larry Moon and Ricky Moon, all of Kingston; daughters Juanita Munn Martin of Bremerton, Marcia Moon of Kingston and Carmen Scalzo of Mercer Island; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Moon was preceded in death by his brothers Earl Moon and Harold Moon; sisters Irene Howerton and Lillian Robson; and grandson Jeffrey O. Munn.

Public viewing will be from 10 a.m. to noon March 31, 2007 at Bayside Community Church in Kingston. Services will follow at 2 p.m., and burial will be at the Kingston Cemetery.
