Elaine “Vicki” Nettleton, 79
Vicki Nettleton died Oct. 13. She was 79 years old. She was born in Fort Bragg, Calif. July 1, 1929, to Howard and Eleanor (Green) Blanchard.
At the age of 12, her family relocated to Anchorage, Alaska, where she and her siblings enjoyed the outdoors of what was then still a largely unsettled territory.
While still in high school, she met Bill Nettleton, who became the love of her life. They were married June 18, 1947.
Their four children, Sheryl, Harry, James, and Steve were all born in Alaska.
The family also lived in California and Seattle, before settling in Hansville, about 35 years ago, where Nettleton remained until the last year of her life.
She had many jobs over the years, including bookkeeping, modeling, and radio dispatching, but the jobs she loved the most were those related to her family — raising her children, keeping house, gardening, listening to music and dancing with her husband.
Nettleton was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her brother, Bud, and her parents.
She is survived by her four children, Sheryl Nettleton (Ken Fleming), Harry Nettleton, James (Genene) Nettleton, and Steve Nettleton; seven grandchildren; her sister, Lorraine (Ralph) Becker, and her brother, Dale (Maryann) Blanchard.
