Emma Jean “Nonnie” Cox, 84
Emma Jean “Nonnie” Cox of Poulsbo died Nov. 10, 2007 in Bremerton. She was 84.
Cox was born to Harley and Regina Vandeeveer in Evansville, Ind. on Jan. 20, 1923.
She married James W. Cox in 1944.
Cox worked in public relations at the University of Washington starting in the 1960s for about 15 years.
She enjoyed traveling, twice to China and Africa, photography and crossword puzzles. She received numerous awards from the Northwest Press Women’s Association.
Cox is survived by her sons Jim (Barb) Cox of British Columbia, Jerry Cox of Renton and Jack (Kathy) Cox of Poulsbo; sister Louis Feder of De Pere, Wis.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Cox was preceded in death by her husband James Cox.
