Eric Karl Koths, 67 of Poulsbo, Washington, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 20, 2016.
He was born Sept. 7, 1949 in Flint, Michigan. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1967 and Michigan State University in 1971 with honors and a bachelor’s degree in history, a life-long interest of his.
After college, he enlisted in the Navy and served as a supply officer for eight years. While stationed in Bremerton, he discovered Poulsbo where he bought property, built a log home and lived there for the remainder of his life.
Eric was employed at the Naval Station, Keyport as an inventory manager from 1980 until his retirement in 1999.
He married Karla Poff (Simonis) on July 10, 1993. Eric enjoyed traveling and together they had several European adventures, as well as visiting many U.S. states.
Eric is survived by his wife Karla of Poulsbo; brother, Greg Koths (Debbie) of Port Orchard; step-son Rich Simonis (Debbie) of Silverdale; step-daughter Jacque Watland (Bryan); six nephews and four step-grandchildren.
