Evelyn V. Cruz died Aug. 30, 2006, in Bremerton. She was 65 years old.
Mrs. Cruz was a registered nurse at Naval Hospital Bremerton who enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
She was born June 4, 1941, in Taytay, Rizal in the Philippines to Isosceles and Lourdes (Domingo) Valle. She attended Rizal High School and then the University of the Philippines where she graduated with a bachelor’s of nursing degree.
Mrs. Cruz married Vicente D. Cruz on Oct. 27, 1970, in Bremerton.
She is survived by her husband of the family home; son Vic “Jojo” Cruz III of Vancouver, Wash.; grandchildren Mckenzie Lee and Hunter Grant Cruz; brother Elmer Valle of Las Vegas; sisters Elfreda, Ellen, and Emy, all of the Philippines, Eleanor, Emma and Ernilda, all of Las Vegas; her Banal Na Pag-aaral family and a circle of long-time friends.
A viewing is scheduled for 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. today, Sept. 2, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton with evening vigils starting at 8 p.m. through Thursday, Sept. 7, at the family’s home. Mrs. Cruz’s funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Jackson Park Chapel, 90 Olding Road, preceded by a rosary at 10:30 a.m. She will be buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton.
